A humanitarian crisis in Arakan State became 100 times worse
than before as Myanmar army has been launching genocidal operation called “Four
Cuts Policy” against Rohingya since October 9. Nearly 200 Rohingya were killed,
100s of houses were burnt down, at least 38 Rohingya women were raped,
properties of Rohingya were robbed, nearly 700 were arbitrarily arrested and
some of them were labeled terrorists in Maungdaw District by the army and
Border Guard forces.
Not only in Maungdaw District, all Rohingya in Arakan who
live in the ghetto-like villages and concentration camps, are now facing
genocidal operation. On 5.11.2016, five Rohingya from Kadi village of Punna
Kyun were attacked by Rakhine extremists.
Authority blocks all ways to reach aids to the affected
areas. NLD government failed to protect Rohingya civilians rather it spread
propaganda against Rohingya through national media. Though Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
promised not to use the term Bengali for Rohingya, State’s media is
consistently using Bengali terrorists and threatening their security.
Suu Kyi’s government has said that the men who attacked
police posts on October 9 were Bengali terrorists but it launches genocidal
operations against innocent Rohingya civilians instead of finding those
terrorists. There is no Rohingya militant group operating in the State. Many
Rohingya believe that those attackers might be Border Guard’s WY drug dealing
partners.
More than a million Rohingya have been being kept under
genocidal blockage depriving all fundamental human rights since 2012.
Ex-military intelligence chief Khin Nyunt spread malicious lies to fuel
anti-Rohingya hatred among the gullible and racist Buddhists. Rohingya are
framed as a threat to the State’s security since 1990. Khin Nyunt is one of the
most lethal snakes against Islam and Muslims in Burma.
Entire Burmese army sponsors Rohingya Genocide, racist and
unprincipled NLD leaders deny existence of Rohingya, 99% of policy makers in
all fields of government structure spread bias information against Rohingya and
blood-thirsty Rakhine extremists are supporting army generals to continue
Rohingya Genocide.
International Community has been urging Myanmar government
to end persecution, resettle all IDPs in their own places and restore their
rights but Myanmar ignores international laws and continues genocidal
operation. Now it is time to implement R2P for Rohingya as soon as possible.
“In a country where the regular police and military are
notorious for grave human rights violations, it’s difficult to extend the
benefit of the doubt to poorly trained civilians,’ said Sam Zarifi, ICJ’s Asia
Director. ‘Establishing an armed, untrained, unaccountable force drawn from
only one community in the midst of serious ethnic tensions and violence is a
recipe for disaster,’ he added.”
