AUNG SAN SUU KYI SHOULD VISIT TO ROHINGYA IN THE GHETTOS
By Aung Aung
I wrote an open letter to Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi with great expectation in 2012
I came to know now I expected
help from a rock-like person, even harder than rock because there are some
rocks from which rivers come gushing. 100s of scholars, seven Nobel Laureates,
1000s of journalists and right activists and millions of people around the
World have shown strong convictions that crimes against humanity, ethnic
cleansing, and genocide have been taken place in Arakan against Rohingya since
decades.
But Suu Kyi named it a
fabrication, why? How can she hold deep convictions about Rohingya Genocide?
For the Certainly of Rohingya Genocide, she should have direct experience
staying at least a week trip in the ghettos where Rohingya have been
desperately suffering from variety of diseases, lack of education, starvation,
torture and mass killing.
She doesn’t have doubt-free
knowledge regarding Rohingya; whatever she grasps are, bias patriotism, and
tendency of ultra-nationalism and Islamophobia of Myanmar generals. To
acknowledge Rohingya Genocide, a person can have knowledge through study and
verification of decades-long persecution.
If he or she has any doubt,
they should depend on seeing and observation visit to the ghettos where
Rohingya live in dire conditions. It they still have doubt, they should stay in
the ghettos with Rohingya at least one week to get the direct experience of
genocide.
A leader who demonstrates and
teaches trust, belief, confidence, sincerity, seriousness, and integrity
through his or her conduct, words, and actions, can never ignore any of their
citizens based on religion, race and color.
Forming Commission one after
another, a special informal meeting with foreign ministers of ASEAN, blaming
international media and spreading propaganda using leaders of extremists such
as Wirathu and Sitagu, and State media, are not the tendency to solve Rohingya
issue. They all are fueling it more.
Displaying Nazi-like slogan “The Earth will not swallow a race to extinction but
another will” http://www.aungaungsittwe.com/apartheid-policy-non-buddhists-myanmar/
referring danger of Rohingya and Muslim
in every Immigration Department of Myanmar, it never be a democratic country.
Democracy demands to remove all Nazi-like State’s Polices based on race and
religion.
Before she personally briefs
her fellow ASEAN ministers on the situation in Rakhine State, Suu Kyi should
visit to Rohingya in the ghettos where Rohingya have been deprived all basic
rights including right to find food and education and facing genocidal
operations in the name of Clearance in Maungdaw.
Denial of Rohingya and
referring them Bengali are two main State’s Policies to eradicate all Rohingya.
All persecutions and genocidal operations of Myanmar authority against Rohingya
depend on these policies. Without removing genocidal polices of the State, no
one can end Rohingya Genocide.
Now it is not the time to
discuss whether ethnic cleansing or Genocide, it is time to take action for the
Tatmadaw’s brutality against Rohingya and restore rights of Rohingya as soon as
possible.
ASEAN officials saw the move as
a sign of concern within Suu Kyi’s fledgling administration of mounting
international criticism over the recent crackdown on the country’s Rohingya
minority. But Myanmar is still denying existence of Rohingya to continue
genocidal operations.
