Since 9 October, Myanmar
authorities have burned about 300 Rohingya houses in northern Arakan especially
along northern Maungdaw.
The government has changed
their strategy burning to destroying the Rohingya houses as soon as UN and
Human Rights groups rises vice against the abuses.
Last year, the government
has planned to demolish Rohingya’s houses, religious structures and markets “said
illegally built” but later withdrawn it. Whenever burning stopped begun
destroying the houses, mosques, shops etc unless arresting, mercilessly beating
all over Maungdaw District meanwhile Rohingyas are on run for the fear of
killing and raping. About 70,000 Rohingyas have been escaped for life to Rohingya
refugee camps of Bangladesh.
The witness video clip here is
Bodi Alam s/o Bashir Ahmed, a sick and old man from #MazorFara hamlet of #MaungNamaVT
in Maungdaw North, filmed on 01/01/2017, same day destroyed.
He said "Village tract
admin, a Rakhine Buddhist accompanied with 2 other Rakhines and 6 policemen
came yesterday and ordered me to destroy my house before 10 am today; warned
for setting fire or jail, if not destroyed. As everywhere destroying, burning
and arresting the house owners, I have no choice, destroyed my house for the
fear of burning & jail."
