Bulldozed Mosques by authorities in Maungdaw

By @mir_sidiquee
Myanmar authorities have flagrantly bulldozed 16 out of 17 Mosques, including a historical Mosque which was built on 1762, in villages of Myothugyi (Hyndafara), near Maungdaw Township within a week.
UN and world authorities have urged to stop such inhumanities against Rohingyas but visits to China has strengthen them to continue the ongoing state run genocide.

Rohingyas from Myothugyi were under massive fire and carnages since the beginning of unrest in late August. After the massive fire devastation only 17 Mosques along with some Rohingya houses were remained. Since last week Myanmar’s brutal authorities eyed on the remaining 17 Mosques and started using bulldozers to demolish the holy structures.

“After burning our houses, they (authorities) are targeting our religious structures openly and government set them free to do so” explains one of the villagers in extreme misery. 17 of the mosques were located Uttorfara, Furanfara and center of Hyndafara village. Now out of 17 Mosques only one remains and is expected to be demolished in the same way tomorrow according to the villagers.

A village elder said “a Historical Mosque adjacent with cemetery was built on 1762, also bulldozed on 30th, November early morning about 6:30 am. Such 16 Mosques are demolished, used bulldozers in our village track.

Myothugyi is a historical Rohingya village track, very near with downtown along the road of Maungdaw – Buthidaung. There were many government servants, high rank officials in this village track. “Myothugyi” means “Township Administrator” in Burmese; Hyndafara was named as Myothugyi in government record as it was governing the entire area of Maungdaw.

Myanmar’s Army Chief said “there is no religious segregation in our country” to Pope Francis and also repeatedly denying for reports of Human Rights Organization and global medias as well.

Not only Myanmar’s Army Chief but also Nobel Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi too flatly denied all the atrocities against Rohingyas but today bulldozing historical religious structures are widely witnessing their crimes.

It is too necessary to be deployed the UNSC led peace keepers in urgent basis, to save lives of Rohingyas as well as historical structures which are demolishing by Myanmar government.

Such many historical Mosques were bulldozed or burned to ashes or closed forever along all over Arakan (Rakhine state) intending to be erased the history of Rohingyas.
