Following heavy downpour and onrush of rain water from the hills, rising water levels of a number of creeks in several camps in southern Cox’s Bazar have left people marooned after damaging shelters and flooding the areas.

Thousands of people have also been marooned in many areas
of camps of Teknaf and Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar as they went underwater after
incessant downpour and flash-floods.
Thousands of Rohingyas’ slums have been wiped out and
destroyed by flood of monsoon rain water and rainstorm in the last two days

About 32 slums have been destroyed and flooded in Leda makeshift camps, 58 in Sultanor del, 48 in south Leda, 100 in Jagir del, 29 in Moktulor del, 38 in Nor Alir del, 210 in Balukhali camp, 140 in Thangkhali, 321 in Kutupalong new settlement, 150 in Palong Khali, 143 in Jadimura and 79 in Alikhali camp so far.
Now the Rohingya refugees are stranded in a distress
situation passing their days and nights without shelter and food following the
flood and rainstorm.
They need emergency assistance to save their lives from
monsoon rain in this circumstance since the torrential rain is falling
continuously and flooding their shelters and facing landslides as well.
Thousands of Rohingyas have been marooned following the
flooding and heavy rain falls during the monsoon since their huts are in the
low land between the hills.
Several people have been injured since they were
overwhelmed by landslides following the heavy rain.
