A 10-member investigation commission from Myanmar arrived
in Cox’s Bazar Sunday to meet the Rohingyas who had fled Myanmar’s Rakhine
State since a military crackdown was launched in October last year.
The delegation, led by the commission’s Secretary Zaw
Myint, reached Cox’s Bazar on a two-day tour and sat with Deputy Commissioner
Md Ali Hossain at his office.
They discussed various aspects of the Bangladesh-Myanmar
relationship, including the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
During the meeting, the visiting officials admitted that the
Rohingyas had indeed fled into Bangladesh.

Balukhali and Leda makeshift camps, and talk to the Rohingyas to determine why
they had escaped, the DC added.
An estimated 75,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to
Bangladesh since October. Several thousand of them reportedly returned to
Rakhine State after the military called off their clearance operations.
The Myanmar government formed the probe committee to
investigate the recent influx of Rohingyas into Bangladesh.
The delegation comprises Aung Myint, minister counsellor
of the Myanmar embassy in Dhaka, and five members of the investigation
commission.
