Three detained by BGP in Maungdaw South

Border Guard Police (BGP) have detained three innocent Rohingya at Sammoniafara of AlayThanKyaw, Maungdaw south on 8 May 2017.

Report says Jamir Hussain, son of Kuilla Mia was arbitrarily arrested by BGP alleging in connection with militants while working in his shrimp farm beside the village.

On the other hand, another two Rohingya Gura Miah, son of Nur Ahamed and Mohamed Amin, son of Nuru by name were arrested by BGP from their village alleging in connection with the Al-Aqin the same day.

However, Jamir Hussain was released later as he paid Kyat 200, 000 to BGP as ransom.

But Gura Miah and Mohamed Amin have not been released yet as they are unable to pay the demanded amount of ransom money.

They are still at the custody in sector 7, AlayThanKyaw where they are being tortured for money, said the source.

Arbitrary arrests of Rohingya by Myanmar forces are increasing day by day in Maungdaw of Arakan, source added.
