At least two landmines implanted by Myanmar security forces exploded in a
home yard while the house owners were preparing land for cultivating vegetables
where two farmers received injuries at West hamlet of PantawPyin (Fosim
Nolbainna) village tract of Southern Maungdaw on 1st August 2017 at around 2:45
PM according AT media.
Local source said, the landmines suddenly exploded while the farmers were
digging soil with spade for vegetable cultivation and stepped on them where the
two persons injured and the house was also burnt following explosion.
The landmines were secretly planted there by Myanmar security forces like
many other areas in Maungdaw North and South, said villagers.
Earlier, on 15 July three Rohingya farmers were killed in a same landmine
explosion at Pyaung Pike village of NgaSaKyu village tract in Northern Maungdaw
while they were plowing lands for paddy cultivation which were also planted by
Myanmar soldiers in the farmlands of Rohingya. Read here: https://mirsdq.blogspot.com/2017/07/rohingya-farmers-died-and-seriously.html
Local peoples said, “new policy of Myanmar’s security forces is more
dangerous than ever before, we have no ways to stay here, rather than die with
dignity or leave as cowards,” activists are also willing to be same as locals.
But so call govt media, Myanmar’s State Counsellor Information Committee
has posted the same news with another design as usual. Read here in Burmese: https://www.facebook.com/MyanmarSCOInfoCom/posts/773918432781265
This is a new strategy of Myanmar government to kill and to drive out,
remaining to put into the jail for long term to the innocent Rohingya villagers
including women as still remained in land even the government security forces
have been violatted all kinds of crimes including genocide and crimes against
humanity. Planting landmines in yards and paddy land can carry out more crimes
by the name of clearance, against innocent Rohingyas, said Rohingya activist.
