The Arakan Army (AA) has kidnaped two Rohingya elders
while they were coming back home from hospital by a boat on last May 6, 2019.
They were known as Abu Taher (45) s/o Abdu Sukkur
(Village Administrator) of Sin Kone Tan village of Luin Taung village tract in
Rathedaung and his brother in law Mr Shofiur Rahman (30) s/o Aman Ullah of Thin
Ga Na village in Buthidaung.
According to sources, the AA rebels have halted the boat
at the middle of the river between U Pok and Zee Aung Mya village, kidnapped
the following Rohingyas: 1/ Abu Taher s/o Abdu Shukkur, 2/ Shofiur Rahman (a)
Shobiron s/o Aman Ullah, 3/ Shofi Alam s/o Hamidur Rahman, 4/ Nurul Alam s/o
Mogbul Ahamed and 6/ a woman, on 6 May 2019.
The woman was beaten severely then freed instantly and
then Shofi and Nurul were too freed the next day.
It is learnt that the rebels have opened fire and stabbed
the victims (Abu Taher and Shofiur Rahman) after halting the boat in the river.
Moreover the AA with the help of some village
collaborators sieged the house of Abul Kalam (alias) Maung Thin Kyaw and looted
four cattle from the village on May 28, 2019.
Hundreds of Rohingya remaining families have fled the
village due to fear of AA rebels as they are attacking peoples, looting houses
and cattle, source added.
"We are being persecuted by both the Myanmar
security forces and AA rebels in the village. We are now between the snake and
the tiger", villagers said.
Both are in same objective to eliminate or to finish the
Rohingyas from the land. Last years these extremists Rakhines were collaborated
with security forces and carried out massacre against Rohingyas, today they
have stood up against the government but their objective behind is the same.
The kidnapped elders have not been set free yet. They
have gone missing since then. It is still unknown that either they are alive or
killed, according to family source.
