The deceased was identified Samerah (12) d/o Noor Boshor
(alias) Kala of Ngan Chaung in Maungdaw north.
According to sources the girl left from home looking for
goats in the paddy field adjacent with their hamlet at around 5:00 PM on June
11, 2019. She did not return back home as usual from the paddy field with the
goats that evening.
Therefore, her family members and relatives have searched
her everywhere in the village and outside the village but did not find her.
The family members have complained to a team of Myanmar
Army who are patrolling along the villages. Then the patrolling in charge and
the family members were went to the security police camp of the village, too
asked about the missing girl but the family members were not allowed to search
the camp, the patrolling in charge has entered and pretended as searched then
returned back “said there is none and don’t blame them.”
On June 12, 2019 early morning, the girl was found dead
beside the graveyard near the hamlet by her family members.
It has been learnt that security forces (NaKaKa) were
roaming across the village the last whole night and one of the aunties of
Samerah saw that two security forces were carrying something wrapped with
blanket on their shoulder, looks like taking a teenager, patient. She was
shockingly feared to say as security forces are used to harass them and also she
was unknown about Sameerah’s missing.
It was glared that the victim was gang raped as soon as
they found the dead body as there are symptoms’ of rapes on body.
Early morning as soon as the dead body found in a bush of beside the graveyard, they have informed to the NaKaKa-Police camp. They arrived and checked then sent to the Maungdaw government hospital for autopsy.

According to the autopsy report, the girl was gang raped
to death by the symptoms & marks of rape. As for the marks, scratches are
seen in body and the belly was also swelled.
After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the
guardian then returned back to the village, buried there in their graveyard.
Very interesting thing is here “No case has been filed by
the police department against the rapists although the rapists were identified.
Short note about Ngan Chaung
A Historical village situated along the
Maungdaw-KyienChaung express road, in a 14 miles distance from downtown to
north. This is a village of educated and civilized persons; retired servants of
the governments are too available in this village.
A State Middle school with affiliated High School is here
in this village. It was a Primary School, with only 43 students in 1983 but in
2016 developed to High School with about 1300 students. Most of the teachers
are appointed by locally (the sons of the village) funded by the villagers who
are in abroad and in the capital of Myanmar.
There is a rest house with free food for travellers since
hundreds years. The founder of the village has funded for the “Musafirkhana”
means “Rest house for travellers with food”.
Since about two hundred years, there was no murder case,
neither any one jailed for long term, nor any one violated rape case or murder
case in Ngan Chaung village.
2nd World War also fought in this village. The
villagers were peacefully lived in the village.
In 1977-78, very few villagers, less than 20%; were fled
to Bangladesh. In 1990- also very few peoples, less 15% of the villagers fled
to the Bangladesh Rohingya Refugee camps but in 2017, remained only 720 peoples
(about 120 families) out of more than 6300 villagers.
Myanmar’s vice president has also visited to this village
last year, he has applauded and said “peaceful village” and also orally ensured
for life security.
The villagers said “our heart has been broken; the police
force should not touch us, our faith and loyalty has been broken. We are expecting
to the government to see the justice for the gang rape”.
Overseas Ngan Chaung villagers also said similar “We want
peace; we don’t want to hear such kinds cases in our village. If unfortunately
happened, we want justice.”
